
Job Description
- Wash and prepare vegetables to be used in recipes
- Combine ingredients for various sauces and spreads
- Portion meats to be used in recipes
- Assist the Head Cook in preparing meals, side dishes, and plating food in an aesthetically pleasing way
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Wash and put away cooking utensils and all dishes as needed
- Sweeping / Mopping / Wiping down equipment, shelving, and counters
- Ensure all Health Codes are being followed
- Must maintain a current Oregon Food Handlers Card
Skills Required
- Basic math and fractions / Understanding recipe conversions
- Able to handle sharp knives safely
- Efficient cutting vegetables quickly and consistently
- Able to follow verbal instruction and communicate effectively
- Able to stand and work for up to 8 hours
Compensation
- Assistant cooks and prep workers are tipped employees. All tips are pooled and split between front and back of house. Once trained, you will be expected to average $16-$17 per hour or higher with reported paycheck tips.
