Job Description

Greet Customers and make them feel welcome.
Take food and drink orders over the counter, the phone, or by drive through.
Maintain familiarity of all menu items including drink and food items to answer questions about ingredients and preparation as needed.
Make recommendations to customers based on their preferences or allergies.
Ask all necessary questions to complete orders and reduce order errors.
Accept payments and give change as needed.
Make all drinks including (but not limited to) espresso drinks, blended drinks, teas, energy drinks, and alcoholic beverages
Serve food and drink orders to tables as needed
Resolving customer concerns or complaints
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
Comply with all Health Codes
Stock supplies and notify management of low inventory
Maintain condiment areas and caddies
Direct and train barista assistants
Give accurate wait times to customers ordering
Evening Servers: Wait on tables and deliver food and drinks
Must maintain an Oregon Food Handler’s Card and an OLCC Server’s permit.

At lease one year of barista experience, or complete training at The Atom. Must complete an evaluation and test of knowledge.
Operation and maintenance of espresso machine, grinders, blenders, and POS System
Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with customers and coworkers
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to interact in a positive manner to prevent or resolve conflicts
Strong teamwork abilities to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-volume environment
The ability to lead by example and delegate tasks effectively to promote a positive work environment.
Physically able to work on their feet for long hours and move quickly when needed

Baristas start at minimum wage plus tips. Morning baristas are part of a tip pool that is figured based on the position and hours worked. We have a three-tier system. Once a Barista’s skillset is validated, they will receive a raise in their hourly pay and move up the tip pool tier. Most Baristas find their wage plus tips ends up equaling around $18-$22 / hr.
