We use Square POS with a digital KDS system in both front of house and back of house. Our team works together to provide exceptional service and a one-of-a-kind experience for our guests. We rely on our evening servers to promote this experience, communicate effectively with other team members, continually gain knowledge about the menu, how it is created, and how to help our guests discover the meals and beverages that will make their visit pleasant and fulfilling.
Baristas work morning breakfast and lunch hours, while servers work the late afternoon and evening hours. Every Barista should have enough knowledge to fill in for a server, and every server should have enough knowledge to fill in for a barista.
Our Evening Servers are required to prepare the dining room for table serving, guide our guests through the evening, then close the dining room and barista station at the end of the evening. They are required to know how to create all of the coffee bar drinks, mock-tails, and alcoholic beverages, run the register, answer phones and take the occasional drive-thru customer.

Servers and Baristas start at minimum wage plus tips. Evening Servers earn tips from table service, and Baristas earn tips from the tip pool – factoring all hours worked and the position worked that day. All of our employees, except evening servers, share in the tip pool because, at The Atom, we believe every person’s job contributes to the customer experience, and a great customer experience – whether it’s a clean table, a well-crafted beverage, or a delicious and timely meal – increase tips for all.
