There are no small jobs at The Atom. From Dishwashers to Cooks to Baristas and all of those that assist those positions, we all work to provide an experience to our guests that is enjoyable, memorable, and comfortable. Dishwashers, Hosts, and Bussers provide the core of cleanliness and customer service to our diners, allowing the baristas and cooks to do their jobs without interruption. Baristas can make their drinks and cooks can prepare their meals more efficiently with their help, along with the help of the cook and barista assistants. This is why our staff understands that the tip a customer leaves is because of the teamwork it took to provide that pleasant experience. We pool tips at The Atom. If somebody isn’t doing their job, the experience for the customer is sacrificed, and tips are lower. We all work together as a team to provide exceptional service, and all employees reap the benefits of that service.
Atom Baristas, Assistant Baristas and Hosts are the backbone of customer service at The Atom. They are not only responsible for producing quality and consistent drinks to our guests, but they are also responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with our regular customers. Our Front of House staff makes every effort to make each person that walks through our doors, arrives at our drive through, or calls on the phone feel welcomed and heard. They are efficient, friendly, and thorough. They ask questions to make sure the customer is getting exactly what they want, and they are so familiar with our menu, they are able to make recommendations based on those answers. They are concerned about dietary restrictions and know what they can and can’t offer their customers based on those restrictions or preferences. Our Baristas know our customers matter, and that a happy customer is a returning customer.
The Atom is a mostly scratch kitchen. We use fresh ingredients to produce high quality meals. We are dedicated to quality, aesthetics, and customer service. Our team works together to provide the best working conditions for the staff, and the best dining experience for our customers.
Cooks, assistant cooks, prep workers, and dishwashers all work together in the kitchen under the main cook’s direction. Assistants and prep workers will be tasked with preparing vegetables, sauces, spreads, and dressings. They are also involved in preparing side dishes, plating food, and maintaining an organized workstation. All of these jobs support our main goal of creating a pleasant dining experience for our customers.
Our diners expect timely service and quality food. They know we take the utmost care in preparation and presentation. Because we are a scratch kitchen, we have the ability to accommodate many different food allergies and preferences, and our customers seek us out because they know they can trust us to take great care in meeting their needs. Our staff understands this, and they enjoy the reward of customers raving about our gluten-free and vegan options that do not require them to lower their standards to find a meal they can eat. Our staff takes pride in the compliments they receive on the drinks, food and presentation. Our staff also understands that working together as a team to provide this experience for customers benefits all of us, from higher tips to return visitors.
Atom Managers’ top priority is to support their staff. The main goal of a manager is to make sure their team has the resources and tools they need to do their job easily and efficiently. Managers are trained in every position and will fill in to ease the burden during busy times. They address concerns about scheduling, inventory, workflow, maintenance, and compliance. While our staff’s main concern is the customer, the manager’s main concern is the staff. Any manager at the Atom can be approached for help with any issues that may come up.
The work environment at The Atom is second to none. We thrive together, support each other, and create a place that feels comfortable. You will find many Atom employees spending their leisure time at The Atom on their days off, and many that leave for college, return to work during summers and winter break.
